Joe S. has the right point. If you can buy a new nickel guard, it will give you a better product. Especially when you consider the old guard has cracks in it. Imagine going to all that work and the next time your bottom bow got bumped, you get a new crack. If your horn is a Meinl Weston or has a bottom bow of the same dimensions as a Meinl Weston, I can order that for you. Any repair shop can order a bow guard for a Miraphone 186.
