Yes, Hirsbrunner made their rotors out of polypropoline (sp?), which is a type of plastic. My dad borrowed a hirsbrunner with these type valves, and they worked fine, unless it was hot. Being from mississippi, my dad had to bring a bottle of cold water with him to gigs and pour it down the leadpipe and empty it whenever it got hot, because the valves would not work at all. The polypropoline would expand more than the metal casing, thus rendering the valves useless, until the valves were sufficiently cooled. The valves worked great in the winter though, they were light and felt very good. I guess they would work great if you lived in alaska or siberia or russia or somewhere. I wouldn't reccomend using them at a fourth of july concert down here in mississippi though.
