Thanks for your report, Andy. I just wanted to mention that IMHO slide placement should not be the main deciding factor on a horn purchase. Sound, intonation, and response should take higher precedence - pushrods, tuning sticks, and other assorted levers and gadgets can solve most slide problems for a very reasonable amount of money if someone really likes a horn and is determined to pull a certain inaccessable slide or slides. Slide length can also be fixed without much difficulty.
I don't mean to sound adversarial, I would just hate to see someone else write off an otherwise good horn for them primarily because of slide placement.
