The reason why they stopped making the 2X line and ultimately went bankrupted (and why all the American brass manufacturers had a difficult time in the 60’s and early 70’s) was for two reasons. First, the Vietnam War, and second, the recession in the early 70’s (remember price controls?). It’s hard to make a profit when your cost of materials is going thru the roof. The cost of brass was at a premium and on allocation. It was all going to make cartridges for bullets.
