Rick, I think you underestimate the flexibility of a young whipper-snapper. Heck, when I was 18, I could learn conversational Xhosa in 3 weeks of total immersion. I doubt that I could learn how to tie a Windsor knot in 3 weeks now. But total immersion is the way to go--gets your brain wired the fastest.
Now if someone could help me with those awful lapses when I forget what horn I'm holding...
