Hey, the quality of the Phillips depends on what key it's in. I personally own one of the CC's and asside from playing a bit sharp at times, it's a beautious horn. I've played on Bb versions that sounded so bad it'd knock your socks off. Now, if your really after a great CC tuba, go with an advanced Yamaha. You could special order the 822 or somethin' from Sam Ash for like $8,200.00 or so. And their upper line horns are a lot more consistant than I've heard other people say they are. Now the Bb's, that's another story. I almost have com to believe that it's impossible to make a Bb that sounds as good as a CC or is as flexible as a CC. I'm probably mistaken, I just havn;t played on any good Bb's in my life time.

Toodles and good luck
