Take lots of pictures. In these days of photoshop, etc. pix may not carry as much weight as in the past, but it certainly doesn't hurt and using slide film helps. Especially if you have a camera with a time-stamp feature. It also helps to have a third party in a couple of the pictures as proof that someone else saw the horn in its pre-shipped condition (the implication being that if someone wants to push their issue, you have a witness and proof of their witnessing). Since you will presumably purchase insurance prior to shipping, you're covered. Either the buyer or the shipper will pay.
