The old style Einsetzen German horn embouchure had the outer edge of the narrow rim set more or less in the middle of the visible red part of the lower lip.
Considered to be good for sound and security, but not so good for agility and endurance.
Aufsetzen (onset) embouchures are not looking very different, if the mouthpieces have narrow rims. But they allow for the use of wider rims, as there is no digging into no flesh.
