I had already researched Chuck Jackson's post about the Cerveny bell. Like you, I remembered the discussion. Some have suggested, though, that this bell might not produce the characteristic Conn sound. In any case, a new Cerveny bell is not as cheap as you might think (I had already corresponded with Matt about it). Unless a used example could be found, a Conn bell is about the same price all said and done.

If I stay with the bell attachment ring, I'll probably try to find a real Conn bell. The alternative is to replace the entire bell stack.
