These things have been around for years and are sold as Brass Mufflers, B.E.R.P.S., Buzz Aids and a few other things. The main difference is material it is made with and size of holes. The original BERP was made of silver plated brass and had three small holes with a lot of resistance. The next BERP would get attached to the leadpipe and had variable resistance. The Buzz Aid I have (and Brass Tactics Buzz Aid) are made of delrin and are cheaper.

Mr Jacobs liked the concept of the earlier models but thought there was to much resistance. He told me to drill a second hole to allow more air flow. I didn't argue with him, I just got the drill out and bored out a second hole for all instruments. In actual use, that is the difference - the amount of resistance!
