Other than the bell,the reciever,some longer bracing,and two little lengths of tube added in back to make the open horn a little longer to compensate for the short bell the parts seem to be the same as the older ones.I have two of the old ones and the main tuning slide on them and my new one are interchangable.King used to make a horn very similar to this,the West Point Band had four and I used one of them most of the time I was there but never could find one in decent shape for sale.Although I did get one that had been used as a birdbath,and had it overhauled with underwhelming results.The new ones seem light years better to me and with so few mddifications I don't know how they did it.Matt Walters must have had something to do with it.Anyway if you like a big,dark sounding,free blowing horn try one.EdF
