That recording is indeed Ellis Wean. He is now the Principal tuba with the Vancouver SO and has recorded some really great stuff with the MSO. Also check out the Planets with the MSO, him and Pierre Boudry make some very special sounds together. Interestingly, the results of the auditions for the MSO and Vancouver SO saw achange in their tuba players, that was a real coincidence. Both players are pretty fantastic players in their own right. The recording of Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet Sewlections and most of the Berlioz overtures are all Dennis, just FYI.
