I've also seen the Miraphone Kaiser-Bariton, and it is quite similar to the Alex shown in the auction. The branches are bigger, with a faster taper that starts later in the instrument. It has a lovely sound, but it takes a large mouthpiece to make it sound more tuba like than euphonium-like.

But I think it is no more different from a typical compensating euphonium than a German rotary F tuba is from a Besson 983 (go with me on the Eb vs. F difference). In my taxonomical opinion, both should be broadly considered a tenor tuba, and I very much prefer Miraphone's label.
