All I can say is that pistons are faster and easier to maintain than rotors, but you have the direction of the depression (Mentioned by Doug) that you have to worry about. Rotors also have a tendency to be noisier than pistons. If you're switching to a piston horn and they start to clank, take it in for some corks and felts.
