I would like to tell of a euph player in the band I directed on the Faroe Islands over 25 years ago.
Due to terrible medical, limited-food, and no-heating-fuel during the WWII era many Faroeses had gotten tuberculosis. Ar?nfinnur one of them. He had most of his right lung removed.
The odd thing was that his left lung apparently expanded its volume and its capacity. With the only side effect, that his heart literally moved to the right.
Had "Finn" not told me, I would not have guessed anything about his lung situation from his playing. Neither from his singing. He also was one of the bass pillars in my choir.
