You know, a lot of people have told me that they don't care for Roger's sound so much and that he chipped notes here and there when they heard him. Well, ok, that's a big personal preference issue for the sound and to me, pointing out the chipped notes is like looking at the mole on Cindy Crawford's face and saying "She's really not that pretty." I think that's missing the point, really....people get caught up in those two aspects and miss the fact that there is some seriously great music happening, and that's where I think that only a few tubists really match up to Bobo's standards.

I also agree with Josh that the old LA Phil recordings should be checked out. Bobo's often overlooked as an orchestral player, but fact is, a lot of those old recordings are just great!

My opinion, for what it's worth.
