ITEA and insurance

After a follow-up call to Clarion, I was told that $250 dollars is the minimum premium offered for up to $30K coverage, unless you are a member of one of their participating groups. Were I a member of one of those groups, the premium would be $125. According to the person I spoke with, ITEA does not currently participate. Other instrumental organizations such as the Int. Flute Assoc., and the Int.Horn Soc. do participate, so there is a precidence for an organization dedicated to a single class of instruments to participate.

Here is an opportunity for ITEA to do something to aid it's current members, and to attract new membership. $50 for membership AND a 50% insurance discount is infinitely more attractive that just the $50 and the ITEA Journal.

If you agree with what I've said, e-mail the PTB at ITEA and encourage them to arrange this benefit for their membership. It's a win-win.

Steve
