As a non-Yamemployee and with the official title of "guy", I certainly wasn't in on any corporate manufacturing decisions, but I've noted that many early Yaminstruments had mouthpipes (and even main slide crooks) that dezinctified quickly and horribly.
After a few years, it seems that most of their brass instruments were equipped with high copper content 'pipes, which are just about "rot proof".
