I also have a Willson 3400. I just sold my CC the other day so now this is my only horn. My plan is to replace my pt4 with a 5/4 CC tuba when things pick up for me. I have played big tubas before and the advice I would give to you is to find as many places to take a breath as you can and just breathe a lot more. Second I would start taking lessons if you are not already on your big horn and get help on breathing.

The only mouthpiece advice I will give you is play what you like and maybe get mouthpieces that have similiar rim shapes for both horns to make it easier to switch back and forth. I have read the other followups and it seems that everybody just wants to sell you on the equipment they use. I don't think you asked what mouthpiece to use.

Lastly, if you decided to get rid of the CC and have only one horn there are a lot of 3400 owners out there that will say it is probably the only horn out there to do everything on.

Good luck on your CC,

-Jim
