The Weril pin guides are not as well-made as the Conns. The pins (rods) seem to be made of brass. After a couple of years the sides of the pins became flat from wear against the top plate of the piston, which had rough edges. The result was increasingly sticky valve action. Matt W. very kindly obtained replacements for me, which solved the problem. I attempted to smooth off the rough edges and will know in another couple of years if that helps. If not, my next step will be to try stainless steel rods.
