Words can be valuable regarding such issues, but rarely valueable unless the person with the quest and the opinion-explainer have the tuba(s), mouthpiece(s), and the persons' four ears sitting in the same room, and not just a words-only description on an internet bulletin board. Your own hands-on/ears-on audition of an instrument (or your pair of instruments mentioned above) would mean 99.99% more to you than anyone else's written evaluations/descriptions regardless of their quantity of verbal detail.

Quite often, when folks describe things to me (things seemingly much easier to conceptualize that the playing characteristics of various tubas), once I actually eyewitness the thing they've described it is not at all the way I thought they were describing it to me.

I do admire you encouraging others to explain their expressed views.
