Yeah, but Manhattan Clam Chowder was first made in Rhode Island as well as "Clear" chowder.
When you are in Little Rhodie you ask for: Red, White, or Clear.
All this from a displaced southerner.
Of course, I wonder if there is a "Rhode Island" sound. I'd bet it sound like a cross between South Boston and the Bronx.
