Where will all the tuba players go after they get their degree? Well, a few will go on to be the next generation of tuba performers and teachers. Many more will go on to teach in the public schools. Even more will go on to careers other than music and will have benefitted by taking music beyond high school. Nobody ever said that taking private lessons in college means that you are locked into a performing career. These lawyers, policemen, politicians, salespeople, doctors, and engineers will have a richer life and, perhaps, continue making music.
