I have taken beta blockers for over 25 years for high blood preasure, heart problems. These are serious drugs, nothing to fool around with, and I seriously doubt they would have the effect you are seeking. They are used to control heart rate and blood pressure. But I have no knowledge of mental calming benefits. Their use might cause you to pass out from lowered blood pressure.
