Tax deductions encourage charitable giving. Thus the private sector can do what the government would otherwise have to do. And we are free to give to organizations that we feel are worthy. In a sense this is supporting art with taxes.
You also make the inexplicable jump from corporations that support the arts to those that act immorally. Then you lump them all into the same bundle because of an enron. Don't bite the hand that feeds you!
