The previous poster is correct; Netscape is much quicker. I think it has to do with the way the two browsers interpret java data. At least that's when Explorer seems to hang up. However, I am only able to use Netscape 4.8, as all of the later editions for Mac are crap and don't work. Version 7.x literally won't load most pages, and 6.x won't load any.
I have a close friend who is also a Mac user, and has had the same issues with the later versions of NetScape. What we both do is just know which pages work best with what browser, and switch as necessary.
