clanking rotors...a few of the 1 zillion causes:

- bumper cork worn. stop arm hitting cork plate
- linkage has lost motion (slop) between its moving part which "catches up" upon impact of the stop arms to the corks
- vertical play of the rotor itself inside the casing. taps against the bearing suddenly when the stop arm makes impact with the cork
- poorly designed linkage whereby the balljoint (or other attaching linkage) which attaches to the stop arm actually hits the stop arm itself, due to miscalculated angles in the design of the linkage
- loose center screw, causing the stop arm to click against the center screw and/or rotor stem.
- due to poor manufacturing, valve stem extends up above the top of the stop arm, making the center screw ineffective
- loose cork plate screws
- loose adjuster screw(s) on linkage sockets
- worn or poorly made non-adjustable linkage sockets

Have fun!
