Ed Jones gave me a great idea for rotary valve tubas. Use neopreme on the down side (you know, pressing the valve down) of the stroke, they last a lot longer than cork.
If you use neopreme on the up side, the valve stop will bounce causing some disruption in the air flow. Makes a difference, if you care!
