What are you looking for? Are you looking for a career as a soloist? Military band? Orchestra? College teaching? Have you been taking lessons with a big-time player and are ready for auditions at schools like Indiana and ASU now, or should you go to a good music school, work hard, and transfer to a more high-powered school? Would you rather go to a high-powered school and have other tuba players to look up to, or would you rather go to a school that has a great music program, but the low brass program isn't as competitive as the rest of the department (in this case you would have more time in the top ensembles, which is important to your education)?

The bottom line is that there is no school that's the best for everyone. You should think more of what you want from a school, and when you have some more specific questions about specific schools come back and you should get some more useful information.
