I read the "play - money" as playing without being paid, not as paying to play.
Sorry for misunderstanding, and for having caused you offense.
I have been following some of the thread that started with the goodgigs posting, and there are obviously very strong feelings. I don't pay to play, other than for the ridiculous cost of an instrument (even used!)
