I played in a section with my Mirafone 186 right next to a piston VMI 330something horn. I really liked the result. My Mirafone had a really centered, dark sound while the VMI had a broader sound. Together, they sounded great. It probably didn't hurt that the guy playing the VMI was just a killer tubist. I think Rick should test my newer Mirafone, with its larger bell, and compare it to his old one. I think that would influence the wave.
