Of course, I could turn 1/4-inch nickel-silver rod into a fancy chair-leg shape like Miraphone did with the Presta linkages, and then charge $250 for the kit that would only fit on one tuba. Maybe they still do that--I haven't looked. I admit that looks nice up to a distance of about four feet, beyond which you can't tell how it's made.
And I leave the tubing raw brass, just like the tuba, so that it gets a full, rich sound.
