Have you decided for certain if you're going to go to college for music or not? If you're unsure, you'll probably want a horn that will retain its value if you decide to move on from music. The horns that Adam talked about are all good, but I think you might be better off on a cheaper instrument, especially given the cost of the Wilson, PT, and Hirsbrunners.

I started playing a Kalison Daryl Smith when I switched to CC and I still think that this is a good entry horn into the CC tuba world. It's certainly not the best horn out there, but it's relatively inexpensive, and you can learn how to play on it. However, the Conn and Meinl Weston are both good choices. Yamaha also makes two nice CC tubas (822 and 861) that you might want to try as well, depending on where you go. Good luck.

Sincerely,
