You should contact Hendrik-Jan Renes regarding the Thein tubas. These are special instruments and really need to be played to understand the differences. Follow this link to his bio and etc. I believe you can contact him through this site. Yes, they are very expensive. I play (at the moment ) a Thein Cimbasso in F and it is ok, but it is really more of a prototype. Bernard Berniers (Radio Philharmonic of the Netherlands) has one that is much more improved than my own. Hope this helps,
