The most common improvement folks seem to discuss or hope for in the 2165 is added resistance. Several top players have had custom smaller mouthpipes installed on their 2165 tubas. I just did one one of these folks, and Matt Walters has a 2165 for sale at Dillon Music with this alteration.
I have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER if this is what the "2" might designate in the new model #.
