To me that sounds just like the old problem with thinking too far in the direction you´re playing. Sounds odd, but go back to the equaly old advice, about thinking in the opposite direction. it helped me great deal, to practice bordognis really slow and always move your left arm up when playing down and vice versa.
What frequently helps my students is to do this not just on the instrument, but also when buzzing the mouthpiece. maybe even bend your body like this.. be inventive!
