If there's no neck available for an instrument (meaning that it can't be tested to a tuner), in this case a BBb King helicon (H.N.White), is there a way to tell if the horn is High Pitch or Low Pitch if there's no "H" or "L" engraved on the valves or by the serial number?
I've read of people getting instruments "put to pitch" - how difficult and expensive is a job like that, and are the results usually satisfactory?
