I finally got to play one recently. I really had a good time honking on it, and - even though my own F tuba feels like an extention of my body - I think I could learn to play a MW45SLP - with reservations...

...The one that I played (and its conservatory-graduate owner was in complete concurrance) was not quite long enough to be pulled out to A=440. He mentioned that it scared him to death to play it on a gig, because the tuning slide would fall on the floor.

Other than the problem of being a difficult instrument to play with other instruments, the particular instrument that I played was responsive, was in tune with itself, and fun to play.

I would bet that your instrument is playable down at A=440.
