The Hamilton Traveling tripod stand is by far the best for outdoors and here's why: the desk is MAGNETIC! Forget clips, clothes pins or plexiglas on windy days.....FRIG MAGNETS!
But seriously the Hamilton stand is really sturdy though not very compact. I bought a canvas bag from Port Canvas that fits the stand, desk and music folder. It's not expensive either. I've sold many of the stands just by bringing mine to outdoor gigs on breezy days...... the drink cup holder is keeper too!
