I refurbed a little Besson CC that was once owned by Arnold Jacobs and was favorably impressed with it. I eventually went out and bought its twin (1 serial number later) and still think it's pretty nice for what it is.

OTOH, didn't someone on this list mention that he got a chance to play one of Bill Bell's rotary CCs and found it was nearly unplayable?

That's the risk you take--people like Jacobs could take any old trashcan of a horn and make it sound good.
