As already mentioned, the Alex has a substantially different receiver and needs a mouthpiece shank that will fit it. Second, the response of an Alex will be substantially different from a Mirafone, so it will take some adjustment on your part. Finally, the stock Alex mouthpieces I've seen for old horns have an enormous shank, a very large cup diameter, but have a relatively shallow bowl. I think I have an old Hablowitz mouthpiece that will fit it. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to try it out.
