I am thinking about ordering a St. Petersburg tuba. I don't want to start any more debates over the quality like those in the archives. My question is, could I replace the linkage myself? Would I still need to pay the extra cost of "honing"? I am mechanically inclined and probabaly have all of the necessary tools. I don't live near any music shops, so could I purchase linkage replacement kits over the internet? What stores would sell this type of product? Thanks for any information.
