Tapping them firmly but gently with a rawhide mallet usually works. Don't try pliers even if you are really desparate, as the hardened metal of pliers will easily gouge a mild metal like brass. I just bought a new set of silver bits for my 20K, and am experiencing them same issue. What I have found works is to separate the bits as much as possible when using the horn (between numbers, etc.), and make sure that they are separated when not in use. Hope that this helps.
P.S. If tapping doesn't work, try using a mouthpiece puller.
