To me, resonance is the fullness I'm looking for when I play. It starts deep in my chest and if my throat, tongue, teeth, and lips are out of the way I get a nice open, full, RESONANT sound. I've only been working with a private teacher for a couple of months but I think my sound is noticeably more resonant. It's something I work on every day in my practice. My teacher has me working without and with the horn to try to identify the characteristics which make for a full, resonant sound both buzzing and playing. My $.02
