Cryo treatment has been used for tons of stuff, not just horns. . Baseball bats, golf clubs, and just about anything else that's metal has been cryo'd. According to people I've talked to who have had their horns cryo'd, it not only makes the sound better, it makes the horn more dent resistant as well. I don't pretend to understand the science of it, but it's something about aligning the molecules of the metal in a coherent fashion so that the overall structure is strengthened. They've also reported that the valves are faster. All in all, it sounds like a can't-lose situation if you can afford it.
