Well, I really am not one to give out suggestions, but I'll tell you what I play. It's a Rudolf Meinl CC Piston. Now that I think about it, it's not my top selection, but I do love it. I would recommend the pistons if you want a better reaction when playing technical pieces...just what I've experienced, along with my tuba peers here at Wheaton. The pistons just seem to "bounce back" better than rotors. I would recommend a larger bore tuba than mine. Also, just so you know...mine was in the price range of $7000 when you include the case. This probably isn't very helpful, but I just thought that I'd add my $0.02 worth!
