My only in horn is an older (c. 1920-30 with post-WWII modifications) German Alexander BBb. While by all means not the easiest horn in the world to play, it has the absolute best sound in the Mid Bb - High Eb range I've heard on any horn. I purchased this horn from my former private instructor but, unfortunately, he doesn't know a whole lot about the history of this particular horn. To potentially shed some light on this, does anyone know of any resources where I can read up on the history of the Alexander company, current business, or anything else somewhat relevant? Thanks a lot...
