I'm curious what folks think of the Columbia Symphony Orchestra recording with Bruno Walter on the Sony Classical label. According to the liner notes Walter championed Bruckner in the U.S. before he caught on and was an authority on Bruckner. Interpretation and playing seem very solid but I don't have anything to compare to. Downside is that it was recorded predigital and has been digitally remastered for the 1996 reissue I'm looking at.
