How do you tell whether it suits the horn if you can't blow it? (by the same token, how do you get a good note if it won't work with your horn?). When you find one that's right, it will really shout at you, or at least it did for me - one blow on a Wick #1 and I have never used another tuba mouthpiece since (well - since the music shop delivered mine a few days later).
