Joking aside: As I have read informations from and about Monette, and to some degree Schilke, they recommend that their instruments are not exposed to any chemical, nor mechanical attempts to make them shine.
Schilke even avoided the removal of solder blops by means of acid. They were/are scraped out.
Want a natural patina? Avoid moisture spottings. And let time do the work.
